ABSTRACT

The current Covid 19 pandemic has created a void in career progress of many aspiring candidates leading them to stress and anxiety globally. There have been incidences of sales going up and down apart from complete shutdown as well. But this has a far-reaching effect on young professionals who are just to enter the job market or are in their early careers. There have been direct impacts on selection of industries by candidates, or the ways in which candidates are selected by companies and there are massive changes that impact career seekers in the post-pandemic period. With this background the present chapter attempts to discuss the career compass of candidates looking for job or employees already in job, through a new lens after the pandemic. What are the post-pandemic upskilling requirements for a career seeker? How job seekers need to focus on soft skills, etc.? This chapter also suggests recommendations toward post-pandemic career move and discusses careers that are suitable during this pandemic. Finally, the chapter tries to throw light on the mental health aspects that might be related to post-pandemic career aspects. In a nutshell, this chapter tries to encompass how the future of career looks like after the pandemic.
