ABSTRACT
The chapter begins with an introduction of the healthcare system in India, its challenges, and solutions to overcome the problems in the healthcare system. The second section of the chapter discusses the story and root cause of the coronavirus pandemic, which devastated the entire health ecosystem in India. Health crisis leads to an opportunity in the third section of the chapter; it throws light on the amalgamation of digital technology in the healthcare system, which brought a radical transformation. The rise in digital technologies in the healthcare domain increases efficiency, accessibility, and affordability. Integrating technologies like artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual reality solves institutional medical problems. The fourth section of the chapter discusses the health-tech start-up landscape in India and throws light on how the government bodies provide schemes and grants to encourage the start-up’s ecosystem in the health domain. Finally, in the conclusion and recommendation sections, authors discussed the existing and future scope of digital healthcare sector in India.
