ABSTRACT

This chapter gives details about most of the nanomaterials applied in the field of pharmaceuticals for drug delivery. Nanomaterials function as the carriers or transporters for the drug, which helps for targeted delivery, increases permeability, enhances bioavailability, reduces adverse effects, increases residence time, and so on. In this chapter, a general introduction of nanomaterials, their types, some examples of nanomaterial formulation, and their characterization are included.
