ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to compare the use of mobile and desktop devices in e-commerce. The comparison was made across three countries: Poland, Türkiye, and the People's Republic of China, from the point of view of the individual customer before (2020) and during the COVID-19 pandemic (2021). The survey sample consisted of 650 respondents. Differences in the use of e-commerce devices across countries in 2020 and 2021 were assessed employing Euclidean distance. It was also hypothesized that marked differences between the evaluations of individual e-commerce criteria before and during the pandemic occurred for the devices used. It was proved that during the pandemic this difference rises significantly, indicating the increasing prevalence of the use of mobile over desktop devices in e-commerce. It has been shown that the differences in e-commerce between the analyzed countries are decreasing, which comes down to accelerating the sustainable development of information societies.
