ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the chemical characterization of the materials and nanomaterials. Nanomaterials can be categorized based on their shapes, sizes, and also chemical compositions. The synthesis of nanomaterials is generally required, or two or more materials, and the identification of these materials must be known to be able to classify the composition of the nanomaterials. The material compositions and origin, structure, shapes, and surface areas can be examined by using analytical tools, which are FTIR, SEM, TEM, optical microscopy, light scattering, X-ray tomography, and spectroscopy. In this chapter, we have discussed the various methods of chemical characterizations applied in nanomaterial identification.
