ABSTRACT

To promote the efficient use of unconventional water resources in China and optimize the allocation of water resources in view of the development and utilization of unconventional water resources, this paper carried out research on the development and utilization modes of different types of unconventional water resources, such as desalinated seawater, brackish water, reclaimed water, rainwater, and mine water. At the same time, this paper conducted in-depth research on the key areas, regions, and development and utilization characteristics of different types of unconventional water resources. Through the research, this paper finds that the development and utilization mode of seawater desalination mainly includes municipal water supply utilization mode, industrial park “point-to-point” water supply mode, and island independent water supply mode. The development and utilization modes of brackish water mainly include irrigation utilization mode and desalination utilization mode. Reclaimed water development and utilization models mainly include centralized development and utilization models and decentralized development and utilization models. The development and utilization modes of rainwater collection and storage mainly include rural rainwater collection and utilization modes and urban rainwater collection and utilization modes. Mine water development and utilization models mainly include self-use models of the mining area and “point-to-point” water supply models in industrial parks. It’s hoped that the research results of this paper can better support China’s unconventional water resources development and utilization management and practical work.
