ABSTRACT

In order to study the flow field characteristics and aerodynamic characteristics of the Ahmed model under different turbulence degrees, the separated vortex simulation method is used to simulate the Ahmed model with a tail inclination of 25° with three turbulence degrees of 1%, 5%, and 10%. The results show that the resistance of the model increases with the increase of turbulence intensity. The increase of turbulence will increase the vorticity at the tail of the model, which will increase the energy consumption of the model. The increase in turbulence makes the drag coefficient and lift coefficient of the model larger at the same time. The difference is that the growth rate of the drag coefficient is much greater than that of the lift coefficient.
