ABSTRACT

Taking the panel data of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River economic belt from 2009 to 2018 as the research observed value, this study uses the SBM-DEA super-efficiency model considering unexpected output to calculate the green innovation efficiency of the Yangtze River economic belt, and uses the entropy method to calculate the command-controlled type, market incentive type, and autonomous environmental regulation. Finally, a panel fixed effect model is established to analyze the impact of heterogeneous environmental regulation on the efficiency of green innovation. The results show that there is a nonlinear relationship between the three environmental regulations and the green innovation efficiency of the Yangtze River economic belt. Among them, the command-controlled environmental regulation has a “U” type action mechanism on the green innovation efficiency, and the market incentive environmental regulation and autonomous environmental regulation have an inverted “U” type dynamic impact on the green innovation efficiency. The research results will help to provide effective policy suggestions for the Yangtze River economic belt to promote green innovation and realize the economic green transformation of the Yangtze River economic belt by relying on heterogeneous environmental regulation.
