ABSTRACT

Rural residential energy conservation is one of the crucial links in China’s building energy conservation system. In the context of rural revitalization, it is of positive significance to transform rural houses with low energy consumption to save energy, reduce carbon emissions and optimize the living environment of rural houses. It took “Sunshine and Rain House”, the work of “Zero Carbon Cup” China’s Beautiful Rural Energy-saving Ecological Architecture Design Competition, as an example, and the current situation was analyzed in existing rural houses of north China. Then, based on the zero-carbon concept, the passive energy-saving designs and active techniques for rural housing renovation were researched, combined with solar photovoltaic, ground source heat pump, and biomass energy to achieve low energy consumption and zero emissions. According to the calculation of relevant carbon emissions, the feasibility of the design ideas is demonstrated, which provides a reference for the low-carbon energy-saving design of rural houses.
