ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes the recent advancements in the preparation of different metal/metal oxide-based NPs following the green process (plant extracts/microorganisms) and their different potential biological applications. Nature has always surprised chemists and biologists through its natural resources, which can be used to treat various life-threatening diseases since ancient times. In the Ramayan, also, with the help of natural therapy, that is, sanjivani, Lord Ram saved the life of his beloved younger brother Laxman. Taking inspiration from the Vedas, the scientific community is working day and night to explore nature and its sources increasingly. Currently, nanotechnology is used in every aspect of life, starting from makeup to life-saving drug molecules. Nanotechnology is one of the most advanced science research fields and has received a great deal of attention among researchers worldwide. Nanoparticles (NPs) are generally small in size and thereby possess a large surface-to-volume ratio.
