ABSTRACT

To effectively eliminate the welding deformation problem caused by fillet welding of high strength steel sheet, the method of welding deformation straightening based on a traveling induction heating process was studied. The high strength steel sheets with different thicknesses were selected for fillet welding experiments, when the workpiece is cooled, a traveling high-frequency induction coil was applied on the back side of the stiffened plate for mobile induction heating, the influence data of induction heating process with various process parameters on welding deformation leveling amount were statistical induced, and the stress-strain distribution characteristics were analyzed. The results show that the influence of different induction heating process parameters on welding deformation leveling amount is dissimilar obviously, the width of stress concentration zone and welding deformation leveling amount are more significantly affected by induced current and coil rate and this research method can provide an effective scientific reference for engineering application.
