ABSTRACT

Our manufacturing and production industries are currently in the midst of a digital transition known as Industry 4.0, or the fourth industrial revolution, which is expected to continue for the next decade or so. A number of issues, most of which have to do with cybersecurity, are raised as a result of this evolution. This study is based on a gap analysis that highlights the obstacles to the Industry 4.0 revolution. There are several types of security and privacy issues to consider, and each has its own set of considerations. People, processes, and technology are only a few examples. After that, the chapter offers suggestions for dealing with each of the problems it identifies. In addition, the recommendations are tailored to the users at whom they are aimed. Before getting into the security and privacy issues it raises, it is important to understand the fourth industrial revolution and what it means for our industry.
