ABSTRACT

Healthcare is an indispensable part of human life. The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has increased the demand for basic medical supplies and medications and the requirement for advanced information technology applications. It is essential to provide preventive and curative services, especially for the most vulnerable groups, such as children, the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, minorities, and people with disabilities. Healthcare systems around the world are being challenged by the rising demand for care for COVID-19 patients. Fighting the COVID-19 pandemic while sustaining fundamental healthcare services must be balanced as best as possible across nations. Not only for COVID-19, but also a real-time health monitoring system will be helpful for those who want to keep an eye on the health of their loved ones. Hence, the demand for essential healthcare systems is increasing day by day. This chapter introduces an Internet of Things (IoT) application framework integrated with machine learning (ML) techniques to design an advanced automation system. This system will connect, monitor, notify, and suggest preventive measures for proper diagnosis.
