ABSTRACT

Owing to the development of cyber-physical systems (CPS) in this century, it has also made birth to catering many domains such as smart industry, smart grid, smart energy, and smart homes. One of the sectors is smart healthcare that has made a huge impact in the recent era after the COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare is in a mode of rapid transformation from the traditional hospitals to more of a smart hospital made of less human resources. In the recent time, the Aarogya Setu app, made in India, was one of the products of the smart healthcare using Internet of Things (IoT) map surveillance that was created for tracking and monitoring the corona virus patients affected in India. It was made for decongesting the hospitals which was made for small-scale assistance, and introduction of home quarantine tracking were also made available in it. Healthcare-monitoring system in hospitals and many other health centres has experienced significant growth, and portable healthcare-monitoring systems with emerging technologies are becoming a great concern to many countries worldwide nowadays. The advancement of technologies, such as IoTs and artificial intelligence (AI), facilitates the progress of healthcare from face-to-face to contactless treatment. This chapter proposes to solve the challenges faced by the smart healthcare by integrating technologies such as AI, IoT, blockchain and Big Data. As the development in the smart healthcare field was booming with many smart devices, the virus made the entry of smart healthcare inevitable. To develop smart healthcare, the technologies used are IoT, AI and blockchain.
