ABSTRACT
One of the rising communication technologies is 6G which tends to influence and revolutionize industries and their products, especially the healthcare sector in the coming years, 2030 onward. The 5G technology is still to be explored for capturing the market; however, the researchers started visioning, planning, and exploring the requirements of 6G. The future healthcare sector will be based on AI and 6G. At present, space and time are the key limitations of healthcare and 6G will try to conquer these limitations. For healthcare, 6G appeared to be a game-changing technology. Taking this perspective into account, the future healthcare sector can be an era of 6G communication technology. New techniques have been introduced beyond industry 4.0 for enhancing lifestyles like intelligent wearable devices, intelligent IoMT (Internet of Medical Things), and H2M Service (Hospital to Home) along with a diversity of business models. There should be minimum end-to-end latency (1 ms) and high-service reliability (99.999%) in smart healthcare treatments which require stringent network requirements, and 6G serves as a solution. To achieve such a high performance, there exist challenges that need to be coped with. In this chapter, these challenges have been discussed along with the solutions. Further, the role of 6G has been discussed in a situation like a pandemic, telesurgery, and epidemic.
