ABSTRACT

A mushroom is a macrofungus with distinct fruiting bodies that can be hypogeous or epigeous, large enough to be seen with the naked eye and harvested with hands. Nutrient composition analysis revealed that sclerotium of wild TMM is abundant in carbohydrate and dietary fibre content but low-fat content, moderate protein content and all essential amino acids, except tryptophan. Inflammation is the protective response of the body against microbiologic agents, physical trauma, harmful chemicals and is characterised by redness, swelling, pain and heat. A neurite represents the external projections, such as axons and dendrites of the neuronal cell body. Neurite outgrowth is a fundamental process in the differentiation of the neurons. Moreover, neurite outgrowth is a critical step in the formation of synaptic connections, thus essential for the development of central nervous system network as well as for the regeneration following any disease or trauma.
