ABSTRACT

The production of free radicals is the main cause of change in environmental factors which are having a strong impact on the health of humans as they can damage the cell structures, like DNA, cell membrane and proteins. Armillaria mellea is a medicinal fungus that has been used for many years in East Asia. Polysaccharides that are separated from A. mellea have been seen to exhibit superoxide radical scavenging that has antioxidant. Submerged and large clusters of rhizomorphs can be found in standing liquid culture. Mycelium grow in pellets but no growth is observed in the shake flask. Enteramine has an important function in the regulation of temperature, weight, appetite, cellular proliferation and sleep. Abnormality in enteramine concentrations could lead to alcohol addiction, anxiety, depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and even suicide, which is why treatment of these problems in the majority of cases requires enteramine reabsorption by nerve cells.
