ABSTRACT

E-Learning, often known as virtual learning, is a notion of learning based on digital and web-based applications. People’s learning styles have evolved in tandem with technological advancements. Students nowadays prefer to use web-based applications to search for information rather than hunting for physical books or consulting specialists. As a form of virtual learning, most Indian and international colleges have begun to provide professional degrees, courses, and study programmes via the internet. Education has changed dramatically as a result of the distinct emergence of e-learning and its eco system, in which instruction is managed remotely and on digital platforms as a result of this approach. This trend of digital education system is going to continue in the future too. In the era of industry 4.0 and society 5.0, e-learning is becoming the preferred kind of education. Based on the review done in this chapter, education strategies rely heavily on e-learning platforms. This new revolution in the education system has benefitted people living in remote places as well as students working while studying. It not only improves students’ ability to become educated, but also allows working professionals to update themselves in their field of study and increase their educational intensity despite their limited resources. E-Learning is becoming more technologically dependent and is improving in all ways. All the stakeholders like educational institutions, students and teachers are getting better awareness about the various online platforms and have started implementing it. Educational institutions are also incorporating blended learning methods. Even researchers are trying to develop better user-friendly, secure e-learning system for the future generation. On the whole, e-learning is sure to complement the present education system and make it more effective.
