ABSTRACT

Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) is markedly superior to normal concrete (NC) in mechanical properties and durability, gradually applied to engineering practice. Taking flexural strengthening of NC beams with UHPC as an example, this paper investigates the application of UHPC in bridge strengthening. First, based on plane section assumption, the flexural bearing capacity calculation formula of NC beams strengthened with UHPC layer is educed, verified by existing test data. Second, an application example of NC beams strengthened by UHPC is introduced, providing reference for related engineering construction.
