ABSTRACT

Bridges are not negligible part of infrastructure in each country. Due to this, assessment and monitoring of these structures are important step in the intervention planning. Therefore, a reliable measuring system should be used. In this paper, a multipurpose measuring system is used. It consists of four major components. The first one is used to measure acceleration, then strains, as well as temperature. The last one measures displacements directly. These components can be additionally used separately. There are investigated the bridges made from steel, reinforced concrete, respectively. Because of that, advantages and disadvantages of the multipurpose measuring system (the use of individual parts as well as the whole system) are mentioned in the paper in accordance with our experience of the tested bridges.
