ABSTRACT

The project of a three-span old steel bridge on the Kharaa River, located 301 km from Naushka to Ulan Bator, was developed in 1946-1947 in the Moscow office of the Zheldorproekt of the USSR Ministry of Transport (formerly the designation of the Russian Federation), which designed one type of bridge, began construction in 1948 and was commissioned into operation in 1949. The first diagnosis of bridge was carried out in 2004, by “Reconstruction” Center of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. The second diagnosis of bridge has conducted by “Tsagaan Bars Buuvei Construction” LLC and researchers from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) in 2020. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the condition of the bridge is to carry out preliminary and detailed assessments of the bridge, to make a conclusion about the condition of the bridge and to give recommendations for further actions.
