ABSTRACT

After its discovery, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) became the primary research domain for both scientific and technological communities. TMD has been the active element in nanoelectronic devices because of its outstanding characteristics such as flexible bandgap and superior electron mobility. Much of the attraction with TMD stems from their diverse optical, electronic, and magnetic properties, particularly how these characteristics change as the number of layers is diminished. In this chapter, we will discuss the intriguing properties of TMD, their structures, doping techniques, and recent advancements in TMD preparation strategy. We will also talk about noble TMD, including its unique structures and properties.
