ABSTRACT

Due to their distinct two-dimensional structures and superior physical and chemical characteristics, the study of graphene and its derivatives has long been a hot issue in both academic and industrial circles. However, application-focused research in the field of anticorrosion coating has only attracted attention in the recent past. The development of enhanced coatings using next-generation materials with superior qualities is the focus of the rising area of graphene-based coatings. Researchers are working to combine graphene with various appropriate materials for surface protection applications to create inexpensive, simple to manufacture, and highly effective coatings. This chapter briefly covers an extensive overview of the industrial forecast for different coating forms. Also briefly presented are newly created methods to increase the protective effect of coatings made of the graphene-polymer matrix. The potential of graphene anticorrosive coatings in near-future applications is then examined, along with suggested future research options for these materials.
