ABSTRACT

Before the pandemic, the healthcare sector usually depended on people's ability to move around and connect in person. Everything relied on patients’ visits to a clinic or hospital to take part in a clinical trial or consult with a doctor. The pandemic helps us to realize the need to be able to work remotely. In order to improve patient access to clinical trials and healthcare delivery, the industry has already started to identify and deploy technological alternatives. Artificial intelligence empowers business leaders in reimagining the future of the healthcare business model. In order to help people make more effective and intelligent decisions, these modern technologies operate at the convergence of data, analytics, and digital technology and assist in facilitating quicker access to insights and assist in making it easier to get insights immediately, which leads to better results for patients and healthcare organizations. Between 2017 and 2023, spending on AI in healthcare is anticipated to increase at an annualized rate of 48%.

This book chapter reviews the development of AI-based modern healthcare technologies by leading companies like IBM, AiCure, Atomwise, Inc., Lifegraph, APIXIO, Inc., Cyrcadia Health Inc., and Welltok, among others, and their efforts.
