ABSTRACT

The smart healthcare system (SHCS), being the predominant, quite needy application of the Internet of things (IoT), ensures the prompt delivery of healthcare services in rural and sub-urban areas where basic medical amenities, adequate medical infrastructures, and specialized physicians are not available. Having considered the high-quality and trusted data associated with the SHCS, the security aspects need to be analyzed comprehensively. In addition, the big data involved in SHCS have to be managed in an efficient manner to arrive at improved decision-making and a further level of medications to be carried out. This chapter deals with the intensive investigation of futuristic IoT-based SHCSs which concentrates on security features that need to be wrapped up with trusted data and the data management strategies and techniques with respect to cloud computing and big data analytics. This chapter provides a complete review of different technologies dealing with IoT-enabled SHCSs like big data analytics, cloud data management, and data governance. The prime objective of this chapter is to deliver the state-of-the-art understanding and update about information security and data management required for IoT-enabled SHCSs.
