ABSTRACT

5G-NR wireless communication has promise for fast data rate, high efficiency, low latency, high capacity and inter-operability with the LTE/LTE-A. A 2x2 wideband MIMO antenna with stepped radiators is designed for 4.83–36.04 GHz spectrum for 5G-NR, IoT, WLAN, WiMAX, and satellite communications (under and above 6 GHz sub-bands). The proposed design has 31.21GHz of bandwidth, peak gain of 6.0 dBi, ECC < 10-3, omnidirectional radiation patterns, TARC bandwidth of 31.0 GHz, and MEG shows the applicability for isotropic and Gaussian environments. The effect of polarization diversity is utilized to reduce the space further and no mutual coupling reduction technique is used. The overall size of the MIMO antenna is 36.0 × 36.0mm2 on Rogers Duroid 5880 dielectric substrates.
