ABSTRACT

With the evolution of the technology of communications, interest in developing solutions to address the problems derived from deploying numerous people to perform monitoring and management activities increased. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) allow the monitoring of vast areas conveniently from a personal computer. Later on, as communications continued to evolve, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions began to be implemented as convenient systems that helped people with their tasks, including interaction with the user. The first article on IoT was published in 2002 applying the concept to smart supermarkets [1]. From 2009 onward, IoT-related papers experienced rapid growth, and governments began to make plans and development directions to provide cities with smart capabilities. The big exponential growth began in 2015, and it is still growing.
