ABSTRACT
IoT technology was developed with the purpose of transferring a huge amount of information, generated by humans or devices. This information can be used in a large number of applications (smart cities, smart homes, e-health, industrial monitoring), which in turn will help address many problems and challenges that concern modern societies. The cornerstone of IoT technology is networking, which is the interface between the generated information and the application layer. The main requirements in IoT networking are reliability, scalability, and security, which must be combined with high energy efficiency.
