ABSTRACT

Recently, one of the most important technological advances of the 21st century has been the Internet of Things (IoT), which has received significant attention from society, industry, and academia. IoT is a term used to describe the network of devices equipped with sensors, software, and other technologies for data transmission over the Internet without the need for human interaction [1]. IoT offers sensing and computing capabilities to connect a wide range of things to the Internet, such as home appliances, cars, and lights. IoT devices can share all their data for the deployment of innovative services and applications that will improve people’s lives. The number of devices connected to the Internet has significantly increased as a result of the IoT’s rapid development. Some of the most prevalent IoT applications include smart homes, healthcare, smart cities, traffic monitoring, agriculture, smart grid, smart water, manufacturing, and transportation. These applications acquire data from heterogenous sources that produce huge amounts of heterogeneous data generated at high speed that should be analyzed, interpreted, utilized, and visualized in real time.
