ABSTRACT

Conventional machining for super alloys is very difficult and not able to meet today’s demand. In order to meet the requirement of the present scenario and to investigate the surface properties of Inconel-800, metal powder is mixed with oil in machining with EDM. According to previous research and one time method process, the process variables that I have selected are current, pulse-on time, pulse-off time, electrode, and powder elements to analyze surface roughness (SR). The technique I have chosen for this is response surface methodology (RSM). Results indicated that except Ton, all the factors along with boron carbide (B4C) vitally impact the Inconel-800’s surface texture. Craters, splits, and rubble were also seen while using a scanning electron microscope to examine the specimen surface texture.
