ABSTRACT

The Babylon application is used in this chapter to highlight the role that artificial intelligence (AI) plays in the healthcare sector. To enhance healthcare services and patient experiences, various technologies are combined. In this chapter, the future challenges and changes in healthcare are the main topics. A systematic analysis of new AI technologies used in healthcare is presented as a viewpoint. While AI is undoubtedly enhancing experiential services, it is unable to replace the human touch, which is a key component of healthcare experiential services. The future of healthcare includes AI as a useful complementary element. Although artificial consciousness is nothing new, research in this field has advanced quickly despite its late start. Innovations in power preparation and the enormous volumes of peak data being produced have, to a limited extent, made this possible. There is currently a lot of open and private research being done on a variety of applications of AI. The UK government stated that it wants to position the country as a global leader in data and AI in its 2017 Industrial Strategy. A $1 billion partial AI agreement was reached between the UK government and business in April 2018, with £300 million going toward AI research. AI is praised for its potential to assist in huge prosperity issues, such as addressing the evolving cognitive requirements of humans. Major research and development groups are investing heavily in advancing AI for human administration and research, including Google, Microsoft, and IBM. Similar to this, more new AI organizations are popping up. There are a number of associations with headquarters in the UK, some of which were founded as a group with facilities and schools there. The National Health Service (NHS) providers and AI engineers have formed alliances, including those with IBM, DeepMind, Babylon Health, and Ultromics. A current perspective discusses the use and function of AI using pertinent business examples and theory. With a focus on the Babylon application, this chapter highlights the various technologies that are currently in use and will be in the future.
