ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to determine and highlight the possibility of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) via deep learning to identify and predict potential cases of pneumonia. A systematic study on the importance and feasibility of the implementation of various techniques and methods of deep learning is provided. With the increase in the accuracy of AI technology, it is understood that this can be a breakthrough in providing easier ability to detect pneumonia.
The total number of registered pulmonologists in India, being around 2,500 only, indicates the need for a more efficient method to navigate this disease. Hence, in this context, AI can be of great assistance. With pneumonia being contagious, in areas where the availability of trained specialists is scarce, this technique can be used with currently available resources.
