ABSTRACT

In the current scenario, the field of education has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, both nationally and internationally. It has opened a new chapter in human history with lots of struggles and sad stories. The schools and colleges have been very much affected and this even resulted in the temporary closure of education institutions. But students’ aspiration and craving for knowledge ultimately resulted in the opening of new venues of digital technology knowledge, online education, and usage of ICT tools in learning, which reshaped the higher education system itself. This chapter examines the impact of COVID-19 on academics and education. The pandemic has adversely impacted the dreams and aspirations of young generations in all areas of life. Online learning challenges and restrictions imposed by various countries compelled international students to forego their plans and dreams of studying aboard or otherwise lead them to search new destiny for international education. The study identifies both the obstacles and opportunities of online teaching, and also provides insights into relevant trends in the field of international education.
