ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the hesitant interval-valued fuzzy linguistic element (HIFLE)-based environment and consider a new projection measure based ranking approach on HIFLE. A new methodology is proposed in this chapter to handle the optimal production evaluation of cotton with special reference to the Sundarban area of West Bengal in India. It discusses multi-criteria decision-making models with the help of projection measure in hesitant interval-valued fuzzy linguistic element oriented environment. The reasonable criteria considered in Sundarban for choosing the cultivation area are irrigation system, rainfed land, salinity of land, temperature, water drainage system, use of fertilizers and pesticides, etc. The chapter considers the cultivation of cotton in summer (Rabi cotton) under different reasonable criteria. This consideration depends upon the characteristics: land salinity and tillage system at time of cultivation of cotton in Sundarban of West Bengal, India.
