ABSTRACT

Cao'e River sluice is located at the Cao'e River estuary. It is the largest sluice in the strong tidal bore estuary area in China and an important pivotal project for water resource allocation in eastern Zhejiang. Different gate opening times have different effects on the regional water level decline and the change rate of flow velocity in the Ningshao plain river network. Therefore, gate scheduling directly affects the flow characteristics. In order to fully study the impact of the operation and management of Cao'e River sluice on the flood control and drainage of Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal, this paper uses Mike21 software to calculate and analyze the relevant data of Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal 72 hours after the sluice is opened. Finally, it is concluded that the best time to dispatch the Cao'e River sluice and the Binhai sluice is 16 hours before the rainstorm.
