ABSTRACT

With global warming, the retrogressive thaw slumps are widely developed in the permafrost region of Qinghai Tibet Plateau, which destroys the ecological environment and damages the infrastructure. This paper conducts the numerical simulation based on the monitor data and literature review. The results show that the freezing and thawing depth of the slope increased with the temperature increase. In the permafrost region, the significant reduction of shear strength parameters caused slope retrogressive thaw slumps. The safety factor decreased with the temperature significantly, and the corresponding horizontal displacement also increased. This paper is beneficial for engineering construction and economic construction.
