ABSTRACT

As an inspection method for roadbed compaction quality, the portable falling weight deflectometer (PFWD) has many advantages, such as easy operation and time-saving. This paper investigates the resilient modulus of iron tailings roadbed using PFWD and discusses the relationship between resilient modulus and differential settlement. The results show that the resilient modulus of roadbed with iron tailings materials is significantly increased with compaction numbers. The resilient modulus of the roadbed with iron tailings materials needs to be higher than 107.4 MPa in order to meet the compaction requirement in practice.
