ABSTRACT

Corrosion has caused great losses to global economic development. Corrosion not only affects the robustness of machinery but also may cause environmental pollution and health threats. Therefore, corrosion research has become the focus and direction of research in recent years. The selection of reasonable, effective, and feasible corrosion control methods is an important link to slow down the corrosion of materials and equipment. The corrosion control technology should strive for a good combination of economic, social, and environmental benefits. Nanometer anti-corrosion technology is still in its early stage, but it shows great application prospects. In this chapter, the existing knowledge about the economic impact of corrosion is introduced, the current situation of nanotechnology products is analyzed from the perspective of commercialization, and a new perspective is proposed for the treatment of corrosive environment and environmental protection.
