ABSTRACT

Community involvement in rural event tourism offers a deeper sense of social values. Local/regional festivals and fairs are a source of income for communities and are vital for the development and preservation of ethnicity by promoting the aesthetic value of the local community. This chapter reflects on the theoretical understanding of rural event tourism and rural events and festivals as a driving force for sustainable development. The main objective of this study is to establish a creative and practical, socially responsible method for economic development by supporting rural/regional/local event tourism initiatives. The paper also aims to recognize and appreciate the role of the society in strengthening and enhancing the authentic cultural values of rural areas.

The study uses qualitative research methods using an exploratory approach to synthesize the conceptual foundations of rural activities, with a view to recognize the ethical and credible cultural practices through different theoretical or literary perceptions. The paper utilizes conceptual methods of study in order to establish a theoretical structure, based primarily on the observation and interpretation of findings, previous simulations, and related works. The results of the study provide an insight into possibilities 280of conserving various rural activities and suggests interventions to construct an ecosystem that is fully sustainable. The results also indicate that rural stakeholders carry out a variety of activities and event managers will initiate measures that encourage satisfaction and sustainable development.
