ABSTRACT

Tourism is travel for recreation and leisure and refers to providing services to achieve this goal. Events are an essential part of tourism, an inseparable part of human society, and essential motivators of tourism, which plays a more significant role in developing a host destination. The roles and impacts of events are well documented in tourism-related literature. Indeed, many countries have used events to gain legitimacy and reputation, highlight their achievements, support trade and tourists, or assist in the process of opening their countries to global influences. Events can help promote, position, and brand it, contributing to a more favorable perception as a potential tourist destination. For many destinations, events have provided comprehensive public attention through extensive media coverage. Sociocultural benefits of events on the local community, such as increased activity associated with the event and the strengthening of local values and traditions, are also significant.
