ABSTRACT

The optimization of shale gas development areas is an important guarantee for the realization of the shale gas production target, which can provide a decision-making basis for the optimization and adjustment measures of exploration and development in the next step. Based on the collection and collation of a large number of literature about shale gas development and the reference of existing research, five representative and universal key indicators are analyzed and screened out from the geological factors, geochemical factors, and productivity factors that affect the selection of shale gas development. The order relation analysis method and entropy weight method are used to determine the combined weight of each index, it not only reflects the preference of the experts in the subjective weight but also fully reflects the influence degree of the information implied by the objective index data itself so that the weight value achieves the unity of the subjective and objective. The weighted TOPSIS method (approximate ideal solution) was used to establish the optimization model of shale gas development areas, by calculating the relative closeness between each evaluation area and the ideal area, we select the development potential area. Finally, the model is used to optimize some specific shale gas development areas in China, and the optimization results are consistent with the actual exploration and development information, indicating that the shale gas development area optimization model based on the order relation analysis -TOPSIS method is feasible and effective.
