ABSTRACT

To achieve the carbon peak goal by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, Zhejiang devotes itself to the construction of a high-level national demonstration province of clean energy and proposes the policy of “double control” of energy. A clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system should be built to satisfy future energy development. This study investigates the current energy supply and consumption in Zhejiang. The power generation installation and structure are evaluated. Moreover, energy consumption per unit of GDP and carbon emission are compared. To satisfy the growing electricity demand, the import ratio of non-fossil energy power can be improved. The annual utilization hours of gas power and nuclear power units can be increased while the exploitation of photovoltaic and offshore wind resources can also reduce the electric power carbon emissions.
