ABSTRACT
Every year, a large number of abandoned plastic products are being discarded into the environment and not recycled and reused, which causes serious pollution to the natural ecological environment. In order to solve this problem, many countries have vigorously promoted plastic pollution control policies, and biodegradable plastics represented by polylactic acid (PLA) have gradually entered the perspective of researchers and the public. In this paper, the latest research progress on the synthesis and modification of PLA is introduced. The application and the future development direction of PLA are discussed, in the hope of offering opinions for the research on PLA.
