ABSTRACT

Recent advancements in the field of nanotechnology have contributed to the improvement as well as revolutions in the life of mankind. Nanotechnology is the study of manipulating matter with structures ranging in size from 1 to 100 nm in at least one dimension, as well as emerging materials or technologies in that range. Magnetic nanoparticles have gained a lot of attention among many forms of nanomaterials, showing a surprising increase in the number of research papers focused on these materials. Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles have a crucial role in photocatalytic water treatment. Nanomaterials can convert wastewater into mineral products, so this chapter provides a new perspective on applications of iron oxide functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (FMNPs) in wastewater treatment as well as the mechanism of wastewater treatment.
