ABSTRACT

It’s the beginning of machines taking over the world. It seems like everyone is talking about it; what exactly is it? Many people have different ideas about what exactly it is, what it does, and what it means to everyone. Yes, assuredly, it is IoT. IoT has unified connected devices that can talk to each other (machines) without requiring human-to-human and humanto-computer interactions. Many enterprises, like Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc., are extensively coming forward to deploy IoT for their particular industry. It also connects the internet with things. Open-source computing devices like Raspberry Pi, BeagleBones, Arduino, NodeMCU, etc., enable machine–machine communication in an industrial environment like automobile collision in avoidance/detection. Since one of the key features of IoT is “heterogeneity,” it leads to privacy and security risk on consumer data (connected to IoT). Thus, here the ‘Blockchain (BC)’ exists. This 2chapter brings you the application of BC in the smart community created by IoT, especially for IIoT. It describes the security breaches of IoT, the architecture of CPS, and some BC-IIoT uses.
