ABSTRACT
Present-day healthcare shifts its paradigm towards a patient-centered healthcare system with a higher order of security. The law of compliance concerning healthcare data is strictly enforced, and policies are effectively utilized as per compliance. The trend of smart healthcare is growing with the rapid use of modern technologies such as cloud, blockchain, 3D printing, wearable devices, etc. Preserving the healthcare data in offline storage is not a feasible part due to its large collective nature from the connected wearables devices. Hence, modern healthcare systems leverage the use of online storage with cloud computing. These advancements in data storage and processing lead to an increase in several potential risks and vulnerabilities. It includes large data breaches in the cloud storage. To address the issue of healthcare data security, this chapter presents the possible solutions for utilizing Blockchain technology. This chapter also gives a complete overview of the present healthcare system and analyzes the drawback of each approach.
