ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to investigate institutional physical facilities for the support of educational reform from teaching staff's perspective. Four aspects are involved: (1) staff's satisfaction with physical facilities, (2) staff's access to educational technologies, (3) expected educational technology training, (4) wireless network on campus. Eight questions were asked in the survey. Data were analyzed and findings are presented in this chapter, which are structured in four sections. Section 1 reports participants' responses on (1) their satisfaction with the wireless network on campus, (2) the extent they think that the computer-based multimedia classrooms can meet the needs of teaching, (3) the extent they think that their universities provide sufficient online teaching resources, (4) the extent they think that there are well-functioning distance education systems and resources at their universities, and (5) the extent they are satisfied with the database retrieval system at their universities. Section 2 reports participants' choices on which educational technologies are accessible in their teaching process at their universities. Section 3 presents participants'

118expectations on educational technology training provided by their institutions. Section 4 reports participants’ access to wireless network on campus. Data analyses in this chapter do not only include overall findings to the above addressed issues, but also take into consideration the impact of gender, age, profession, job title, and the university's geographical location, respectively.
