ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the step-by-step approach to design of fuzzy controllers (FC) for the automatic control systems (ACS) of the floating docks main operations. The proposed approach allows performing the synthesis of the structure and parameters of the Mamdani type FCs for the ACSs of the main control parameters of the floating docks operations using expert knowledge in conjunction with certain optimization procedures on the basis of mathematical programming methods. Conduction of docking operations is a complex technical task, because they require real-time control of all operating parameters with high accuracy and timely control of the executive mechanisms of the floating dock. Fuzzy control systems ensure the quality of the control and regulation processes to be better than in systems synthesized by classical traditional methods for nonlinear and non-stationary objects.
