ABSTRACT

A rational energy policy and security and the diversification of energy sources are one of the significant issues in Poland. Relatively uniform distribution of resources across the country, which would allow the production of fuel for the fuel cells on the site, eliminating the need to develop new power transmission infrastructure. The “Energy Policy of Poland until 2030” announced in 2009 set the current and future course for the Polish energy policy. Hydrogen-based energy generation can be subsumed under the term “technological diversification” included in the “Energy Policy of Poland until 2030” and considered a tool that can be used to achieve increased energy security. The document emphasizes the need to implement modern technologies in the energy sector and to intensify efforts connected with innovation in most fields, including the utilization of natural gas, district heating, and the energy efficiency.
