ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the basic principles of full duplex wireless operation at millimeter-wave frequencies. It focuses on two different antenna interfaces to enable mmwave full-duplex, namely a wideband reconfigurable T/R antenna pair with polarization-based antenna cancellation and an mm-wave fully-integrated magnetic-free non-reciprocal circulator. The chapter briefly discusses some system concepts, including overall self-interference cancellation requirements, its partitioning across different domains and the first demonstration of a millimeter-wave full-duplex wireless link. It also focuses on two different antenna interfaces to enable mmwave full-duplex, namely a wideband reconfigurable T/R antenna pair with polarization-based antenna cancellation and an mm-wave fully-integrated magnetic-free non-reciprocal circulator. An auxiliary port co-polarized with the transmit port is introduced on the receive antenna.
